This
discography represents almost all of the known recording career of jazz
pianist Bill Evans, including his own sessions as a leader and those for
which he was a sideman on the date. NOTE: This catalog/database was
not created by The Bill Evans Webpages. It was made freely available
for use on the Web as an educational resource, and we offer it as such
to our site visitors. Though we are not responsible for its accuracy,
we are going through it periodically, to to check for errors and needed
additions We appreciate your emailing us, should you notice any corrections
that can be made. Thank you.
Since
first featuring this cataloged discography, several Bill Evans fans have
written as to why certain "bootlegs" are not included. Quite
simply, these listings are primarily made up "offically" released
albums; though some bootlegs do appear in the original. However, bootleg
albums are, of course, quite variable and are different in content and
appearance in different countries. It would not be reasonable, efficient
, equitable or even possible to include more of them. We have since added
some releases not present in the original manuscript, such as "Homecoming",
"Half Moon Bay" and "Tenderly" with Don Elliott. CD
box sets are COMPILATIONS of previously listed material (for the most
part) and are featured elsewhere in this website.
Complete discographies of everything ever recorded, such as that based
on the extensive work of Peter Larson back in the 80s, may be avaulable
elsewhee on the Web.
(Our
thanks to Evans aficiandos Eric Min-Tung, Bruce Brannigan and Kazuhiro
Goda for updating assistance and information.)
